“TRUMPET BOUQUET,” the lush trumpet-based fusion project by Mac MacLaren, serves as his musical introduction. The five arrangements on this succinct EP are essentially Mac’s first five songs, slowly worked over from November 2021 to July 2022, with all production, mixing and mastering handled by Mac himself.

Since creating a make-shift studio in the basement of his childhood home in Victoria, Canada, Mac has been learning how to make music, and most importantly for him, how to play trumpet again. Mac played trumpet in an R&B band in high school which took him to studios like Fame in Muscle Shoals, Hard Rock Cafes in Tennessee, and a music school in Copenhagen amongst other groovy spots. But never before has Mac made his own music, and he is extremely proud to share what he’s come up with during this fun and extremely fulfilling learning process.
